There is literally nothing anyone can do without erupting a massive outcry. Nothing is going to happen - it's an election year. There will be no national guard, real military or anything remotely considered as a "use of force".

Just contain these idiots and let fizzle out. They're dumb kids living in a fantasy land, so give them that fantasy. They'll learn real quick without the need for any additional involvement. This entire situation is tantamount to a little kid running away from home, getting 2 blocks away then making that dumbfounded realization. Be the damned parent.
