I took a 53lb chinook out of the GH bay back in '94 or so.

A gillnet boat was waiting for the tide change. Roped to the pole at the mouth of Johns River.
I went towards Westport until I ran over a large school of anchovies. I dropped a plug cut herring, blue label injected with sardine oil below the cloud.

The tide pushed me to shallow water fighting the fish. But I was able to get it to the boat and land it solo.

Just waved at the gillnetter on my back in to the markers back to the ramp.
