Bob D. ran out and got his 1143 when I told him he had to quit fondling mine . It's a super rod that can handle big fish and I've found the length makes it good for floats and jigs. Any of Shimano's 4000 series spinning reels would be good. I fish it with a Stratic I got as a gift. Super setup.
