I am sure Salmo will agree that many of the things were learned in school about salmon and steelhead (and other fish) have been shown to be wrong with the collection of additional data. Too many folks, and we worked with some of them, learn someting once, accept it as settled absolute fact, and won't accept new information. For me, the beauty of the world is that it changes (or really, I change) as I learn more. Apparently, that is a rare trait.
