I had an interesting blacktail hunt last fall where the buck I shot at about 40 yards with buckshot, ran away from me, down a hill, back up a hill, back up a steep path to my general location, and piled up literally at the bottom of my ladder. I couldn't even step directly off the ladder because he was so close. We have all had long chases following blood trails etc, but this one landed on the easy side of the ledger to help balance out the averages I suppose.

I got a huge kick out of it because it's the last thing I'd expect hunting from a stand.
