If you are going to use scent on your jigs your best bet is to go with a chenille body/yarn tail jig that is designed to be fished with scent. If you prefer to use a marabou style jig stay away from the scent and tip the jig with bait, preferably a shrimp tail or a peice of prawn....both will give you some scent without ruining the feathers. As for floats I prefer a good balsa float such as a Thill. Alot of anglers like to use a cork float or a dink, I think it is personal preference....whatever you feel confident in.
