I go against the grain on this one a bit - I like the 2000's but the 4000's just aren't that big or heavy and have much better line capacity, better drag smoothness and longevity, and puts less curls in some lines. And if you put on 15 or 20 lb. line for fall chinook fishing with it, you'll have the capacity. If you want to spend the dough I would get both sizes and fish the 2000 for summer steelhead and smaller winter streams. The Shimanos are great reels but the upcoming Okumas are definitely a reel value. smile My $0.02.
