Coyotes shouldn't scare you. They don't eat much. Besides, it was running from you, not at you.

I have taken about 5 coyotes while "fishing". First one ever was at Rocky Ford when this lady with a springer came down to check out the action. She was in heat , the springer that is, and a coyote came charging out of the bushes on the far side and started barking, yipping, and making all sorts of noise. The lady was concerned for her pup, and two shots later, she wasn't. Make the most of the opportunity.
