I stopped by the Satsop/Hwy12 boatlaunch at about 3:45pm today, and the river was a lot higher than it was on Saturday. I saw 4 fish finnning in the shallows across the river after about 5 minutes of sightseeing.

The boat launch down near the confluence of the Satsop and the Chehalis had a higher water level, but the Chehalis was running clear. I taked with the fish checker, and of the 8 boats, only 2 had caught fish. All were fishing below the Satsop, and complained of muddy water.

Seacat, the area where you and I had crossed the river was about 4 feet deeper. The point upriver from where you caught your jack was submerged.

This river drops FAST! I haven't fished it too much, but I have hunted near it for years. Thursday will show a much lower CFS count, probably in the 1200-1500 range. I already saw more catchable fish today in the 5 minutes that I was there.

I'll check it if I get any more opportunities this week. Saw LOTS of silvers jumping in the boat basin at Westport. They were a litlle more colored up, but none were red, just a bit green.
