thomas jacobs, what you need to do is go down to your local sporting goods store, i'm not from down there so i can't direct you where to go, but go in and ask them to show you how to rig up for bobber fishing for salmon/steelhead fishing. besides this will give you and excuse to go buy some more fishing tackle. there are several different bobber techniques using a bobber. ask them to show them to you. good luck
