I have got several people into their first steelie this year by letting them use my 1141s Allstar rods. They are super sensitive and I think that helps with the rookies. I also love using them myself with light line and little chunks o' pencil lead. Very versitle rods too as they are killer for boondoggin'/sidedrifting, driftfishing, light float 'n' jigs, and they work great for the bird's nest prone rookies that have trouble with the baitcaster. Shimano 2000's on all of mine. Dumping the 2000 Sedonas and Saharas that I have and switching to the Stradics as soon as I get blessed by the money fairy. The Stradic is a lot smoother and worth the extra $$$ in my opinion. It's also funny as hell watching the my rookie friends get their butts kicked by brats on that light little 1141s ! eek Definately move up to the 1025's and 1084's for nates so they don't get played too long. smile
