Personally, I don't see why anyone needs to use a high-end graphite rod when it comes to spinning gear. IMX for spinning just boggles the mind.

To me, in spinning rods, anything past a GL2 is a waste of money.

I'm quite happy with my pair of GL2 1082's and 2000 Shimano reels. They are tough, they work, and I wouldn't cry too much if they were lost, stolen, dropped in the water, or snapped in half.

If I end up replacing them, I'd go with the Allstar Elite line and not Loomis.
