KB on large and mediuwm rivers you can do the just cast drift and retrieve thing. I'd rec' adding some pumps and drops of your rod tip during the drift and retrieve. On smaller rivers where you can spot holding spots like boulders and slots you can manipulate the spoon so it fishes up to then around then down into suspected holding spots by manipuating rod and line. You can literally disect a hole with a spoon.
