I would suggest gift certificates...I know they can be lame, but buying the perfect gift is hard.

Here is what I do. When the old lady wants to buy me outdoor gear she gives me the money, then I upgrade the item and pay the difference. If I told her I needed jig floats, she would get me red/white bobbers....so I need to do the purchasing.
