I have found a cheap source of styrofoam floats with stems at K-Marche which sells for around $2.00 for five. Used with the cheap tubing method that Coot described makes drifting and floating real simple. When I come to a particularly trashy section of river, change up is no problem and in the event of losing the float the price is not such a set back if I were using a Thill float.
