I have done very well at both Seiku and Neah Bay with the smaller of the deep six, a QUALITY ball bearing snap swivel, six foot leader, 3/0 4/0 hooks, and either a cut plug or a cut spinner. You get two baits per herring with the cut spinner.

Start your troll put the six in the water, and let out 12 to 17 pulls in the morning, progressing to 20 to 25 as the afternoon wears on. I rarely get to the afternoon if the fish are there. Keep a rod out when you get one on, and your buddy will probably get one as well. What a zoo.
