I'd book a trip with Robbin Rhoades of the Quinault Guide Service . He'll mostly do walk-in trips in December, that are not nearly as expensive, and will take you to secluded places on the Salmon River or Cook Creek. That's pretty much guaranteed steelhead action!

Even for all the fishing I do, I still do a walk-in trip with Robbin every December. It's usually one of the most fun days of the year for me! Last year, it was a 50 fish day!

Or, hire Bob. He's been known to catch a steelhead or two in December!
