I agree with the Mustang suit for extreme exposures in the boat. They provide more flotation while keeping you warm and dry. I have used them the only problem I have had is trying to get to hot. They won't allow you much work in them without getting warm and they don't breath real well. If you are upgrading your GorTex, look at the gear from ArcTeyrx. My wife and I both own the stuff and we think it is the best breathable rain gear out there. It is made to move in and the 3 layer fabric is reinforced on the wear points. It is expensive but comparable to North Face or Marmot or other high end manufacturers. I am using my Simms waders and a ArcTeryx jacket right now. I am planning on buying pants. To be honest I think the goog rubberized stuff from Helly Hanson is good too. It just doesn't breath as well. Good Luck umbrella
