Make sure your line is going on the right way and after you put it on try stretching it. Tie a swivel on the end of the line and put a hook on the swivel, then put the hook in a piece of wood and back up letting line out for 75 yds or so and pull tight. Try izorline if the other doesn't help. Never had it blow up on me. Sometimes it can be blamed on the reel itself. I hate that line explotion stuff.
