We used to tie up in front of the Empress but
during the summer there's just too many dock walkers and too many questions to relax. We went to Vic for Labor Day weekend as there is a Classic Boat Festival and a blues festival the same weekend down on the quay. A friend from Sequim usually has his boat in the festival (free moorage if you participate). Party on the boat with live blues music close by - good time.
