Please note that character assassination has become common. It sucks and is an abomination but it sure as heck isn't the left alone that does it. In recent times the right has done axe jobs on Kerry, McCain, Murtha, and Max Cleland.

The problem I am left with is I do not want to support anyone who does this. In our senate race McGavick has promised to do no negative campaigning. If he keeps that promise and does not let shadow groups do it for him he has a good chance of getting my vote.

As I see it the only way to stop the crap is to reward those who do not do it.
