Being the cheap ******* that I am, I have been switching over to a lot of Browning rods. I have a 8 1/2', 8 to 12 for drifting. I also have a 10 to 17 that I use mostly for Plugs. The first fish on that one was a 21 1/4 pound chrome hog on the Quinalt last March. The last was a beauty native caught by my buddies 11 year old daughter on the Sol Duc Monday the 30th of December. I also have a 9', 6 to 10 that sees action as a jig rod.

Brownings run about $65.00 at Outdoor Emporium.

Most of my reels are Ambassador 5600 C3 with a 6500 on the plug rod (love the clicker!)

We have a bunch of other stuff that always goes along for the ride, too. I recently "inherited" (from Bill Davis) a Loomis Plug Rod. Still a virgin. We have been fishing that side of the boat with a 10 1/2 foot rod with a knucklebuster. I am really looking to get into a hot fish with that setup!

You don't have to spend a sithpot of money to get set up.

That and $2.75 will get you a beer almost anywhere!
