for the most part. stick to three colors: pink white and black. increease the amount of what ever color needed for the season and conditions. ex: mainly pink and white w/ justa lil black for winter. and mainly black with a lil pink or white in summer. dont tie jigs with alot of material hanging more that one pinky finger thickness past the rounded end of the hook to eliminate non-hookups. go to kaufmans or another high quality fly store and get tiemco hooks (700 seires) you will never lose a fish to a straightened jig on these. these require using lead eyes instead of a typical jig head but they work just as well and often times better in heavilly fished areas. The very best color for winter fish is the light pink marabou. never add sent directly to marabou. only to the body of the jig or you will ruin the action of the marabou. the number one rule is keep it simple. if its in the water and its a biter then it will bite your toe if you present it right. gomakatsu makes a good jig head but dont buy oregon takle heads unless you want to watch every big fish swim off after straightening your hook. to start off do a pink body with lightly wrapped white new age chenile (chrystal flash) (like a wolly bugger wrap) then just behind the head tie these off but leave your body chenile. tie in light pink marabou just behind the head. it does not need to be palmered. then make a couple more wraps to finish with the pink body chenile to make the head look clean and tie it off. it wil work. go very dark in the summer. a pink butt and black body with black and purple marabou will absolutely kill em. email me if ya have more questions. tight lines
