Buenas Parquito - yo tengo un amigo mas fina con muchas experencia con el mar, y botes en Cabo. Puedo llamar con el en una semana, entonces yo tengo un bote mas fina para ti.....

En engles - Yo Parker. I got a buddy that fishes the sh*#t out of those waters. I will see if he is going to be around down there then. If not he probably knows of a skipper or two that will let you set the hook on a biter. You have to watch those mexican skippers, they kill about everything, and sell it - so they dont want some cracker missing the bites.

The big red fish is a Cubera Snaper. Otherwise known as "dog tooth" snapper. That is not the "true" red snapper that is caught in the gulf. In fact, it aint even in the same ballpark. Red snappers are smaller type of bottom feeders. A big one will be 20-30 lbs. Those cuberas get bigger than 50-60 but I bet only a handful of people have ever seen them.
You have a better chance of getting hit by a russian sattelite than landing one of those suckers.
You need MINIMUM 50# gear (we use 50 tufline and 100 leaders) to stop them, or its in the rocks for you. Gone are your line, leader, live bait, hook, or 20 dollar popper if thats what you use. You can stop them if they are as big as the one in the photo. If they are much bigger...... its fun trying! You get good at tying bimini twists down there in a hurry.

If you aint never seen a 50# Cubera smash a topwater plug, put it on your list. It slightly resembles a volkswagon beetle being dropped from around 1000 feet.
