I think some folks are making this issue a little black and white!!
In the hatchery thread, Salmo g. made an excellent point that when the topic comes to hatcheries there really can not be any straight 'yes' or 'no' answers. It is all gray area...
I think this issue is the same way. One can come to Washington Trout's defense but at the same time not be anti-hatchery. Also, just because one does not agree with the tactics that Washington Trout has employed, does not mean one does not agree with other aspects of Washington Trout's conversation methods and agendas.
Myself?? I dont think I would ever become a member of Washington Trout but at the same time, I would never attack them and label them and their supporters as Nazis.
I believe much of what they do is good. I believe their heart is in the right place but at the same, I do not agree with some of their methods and at times I find them to be a tad hypocritical.
And I do not have a problem with those that do not agree with Washington Trout. I do believe that they need to take a step back and find a way of working with Washinton Trout rather then against them.
I mean come on!! Sending threatening letters to manufactures who you have never supported in the past threatening a boycott is nothing more then a dirty scare tactic.
AuntyM...you sent a letter to Scientific Anglers (SA) threatening them with a boycott but did you realize that SA is a divsion of 3M?? Will that boycott continue over to all 3M products??...if so, I will gladly take all your Post-It Notes and Scotch Tape off your hands as those are two office supplies I can never have enough of!
