None of the cell companies work in remote areas where I usually fish. Especially in valleys and up in the mountains.

Im seriously thinking of getting a satellite phone because I usually fish alone and would like to have the 911 backup.

Has anyone else purchased a sat-phone and how does it work, how much did it cost?
