I agree with the others that say go with the Rainshadow. As far as quality and affordability they can't be beat. I would go with 1084 for an all around rod for steelhead and small salmon. It probally won't handle a large king but it could be done. As far as a float rod for the winter steelhead I would recomend an 1264 this is a 10'6" rod. For the summer fish I would go with an 1141 this is my favorite rod and actually would make a great humpy rod as well. It is light enough to provide for a good fight but has the back bone to turn a fish when needed. With all these rods I would go with the Rainshadow line of blanks. They are the same quality as a GL3 and about half the price. If you are interested in a Rainshadow let me know and I could build you one.
