Recently, I bought Scott Haugen's new book on egg cures. It has some interesting cures but it's been frustrating trying to find some of the ingredients. Sugar, non-iodized salt and borax are easy enough to find, but I was having trouble finding both sodium bisulfite and sodium sulfite. confused

In his book, Scott indicates that these ingredients can be found at most pharmacies. Wrong. After calling and visiting a couple dozen pharamacies in the Portland/Vancouver area, I got only puzzled looks and blank stares. beer

Next, I was in Fisherman's Marine over the weekend and, lo and behold, they had sodium sulfite in 20oz. bags for $4.99. It was packaged by Pro-Cure (of all people....). So for anyone looking for these ingredients, now you know where to go. hello thumbs

And don't bother the pharmacies, I confused them enough already.....
