Fished Saturday morning and Sunday morning on the Hood Canal. Saturday fished Hazel Point area pretty hard, threw everything at them but to no avail, lockjaw city.

Sunday ran up into Quilicene Bay for the first time to see what it was all about and to see if the fish had showed up yet. Fish jumping everywhere just a couple miles up the beach from the shellfish lab. Lots of people catching fish just jigging small buzz bombs and a few caught trolling. I managed one abotu 8 lbs. on a small 1 1/2" silver spoon casting but some people were just hauling the fish in left and right.

Question, when large schools of fish are holding up like this waiting to go upriver what have been proven methods for you? I tried to get a look at people's gear and saw what looked like some small buzz bombs but I'm wondering if there are certain colors or sizes that work better or any other gear type that you recommend. I will be back out there next weekend and am planning on picking up some more gear to add to the arnsenal as if I don't have enough right now.

Thanks for your help.
