MY boat was still in the water on Wednesday after the "on the water" display at the PSA meeting. So before pulling the boat, I decided to do a little testing of the TR1. A weather front was moving in, and we had a stiff breeze. And it was raining pretty good. JR was in the neighborhood, so he joined me for about 1 hour of trolling. To test the unit, we headed into the wind and whitecaps to see if it would hold course. It performed beautifully.

We were targeting coho in the middle of the sound in 700' of water with the d'riggers down 100'. JR's rod went off and it turned out to be a blackmouth. What he was doing out there I don't know. Maybe a good omen for the upcoming blackmouth season?
