I'd have some 3 to 6 inch rubber tailed jigs. Maybe 1/4 to 1.5 oz. With black, white, and yellow, I'll bet you could catch fish about anywhere around the world.

I went to Christmas Island some years back, and they recommended jigs, and floating plugs. I can't remember the brand, but they were in Cabela's. They were about 6 inches long.

I think you may want some steel wire leader, if you run into barracuda. If that's the case, a steel wire jock strap may be advisable, as well.
