Maiden voyage of the 24V 74lb electric motor on the 16ft Alumaweld driftboat went well. The river was high and blown out but was an excellent day to test the new set-up. First, my able mate in the front was 200lb+, me too!Combined with the whole set-up from the STS article we set sail in the mighty Sky at Ben Howard. I practiced pulling plugs through the next 1/4 mile of river on the motor the entire time. (2 hours) Floated to several other holes and side drifted them and went back up through them again, several times (3 hours) . Here are a few notes from the trip:

1) Holy _hit this is hard to keep straight in swift water pulling plugs. Must practice more before taking someone I love. beer

4) Had plenty of power! With plenty in reserve! laugh

5) Variable speed control is cool

All in all, if you want to maximize your fishing time in the driftboat and maximize the water you can cover without looking like the Gov of California, an electric is the _hit! smile

Oh, we went 0 for 0!
