Using a book as a reference is OK it can give you an idea as to the rarity of a reel by it's price but you cannot get a real idea of their value from it, whats crap to you or I might be gold to someone else.For instance I have among others a stainless Winona in it's original box the book says 30-50 dollars I paid 75 dollars and felt I stole it I wouldn't ever part with it.
