"Commercial fishing may become one of the last of the hunting and gathering traditions".

You have GOT to be kidding, right???

Commercial Fishing is as much "hunting and gathering tradition" as my shopping at the local grocery store. It is all about $$, and as said in the previous post it is a highly subsidized industry that only negatively impacts the fish stocks.
Next thing you will want me to shed some tears for the orange juice cooperatives that cannot sell their juice (how about lowering the price so working-joes can afford to drink more... duh?) and now Bush has earmarked $50 million (yes f-i-f-t-y million) to purchase juice from these poor "hunter/gatherers" so they will not go out of business...... Subsidies help only large corporate farms, not "poor farmers"....... You my friend need to do some studying....
