You'll hear 'em along the banks of the Sol Duc.

The Allen's have raised exotic birds for years ... some really neat ones too ... endangered species of pheasants for zoos, primarily of Asian origin.

But they have a few peacocks too. Always fun coming up with a story of what sort of a critter is in the woods for the clients.

An emu got out from the Huelsdonk Ranch a couple of Christmas ago. The car in front of us (out-of-state plates) almost hit it about two miles south. They got and started shooting pic after pic, I think they thought they'd found a new species on the Peninsula
