I know this topic has been discussed in the past, but I can't seem to find the older threads...

So, I'll just ask away: I have a fiberglass rod that needs to have the guide at the rod tip replaced.

What is the easiest and safest do-it-yourself way to remove the old guide? I vaguely recall someone recommending use of a hair dryer to heat up the epoxy at the tip until the guide can be pulled out.

Basically, I don't want to apply too much heat that the blank gets damaged...

Suggestions? thanks in advance...
