I had anchored in the fast water just above the hole and had my bait divers just over the lip. I never once pulled my anchor to work down thru the hole. I gave them the whole slot below me. It is only about a 30 second hike to the hole from the road. When I steelhead fish I give way to bank anglers all the time. This has been a real productive salmon spot for me and I will usually row down there in the dark. So lets see, I get up at 2:20, get out of the house at 3:00, drive 1 hour to the river, do a turn around, row down to the top of the hole in the dark and get set up and have someone come down 1/2 hour later and throw over my gear. If he was there first I would give him the top end. Sorry to come across negative but it just gets frustrating at times.
