Take a set of SS needle nose pliers and take one side of the tip and round off the tip (1/8 to 1/4") uniformed as best as you can on a bench grinder or roto-zip being sure not to take off too much materiel just enough to make the tip round instead "D" shaped if done right you can grind a groove into improved side for opening up #2 & #3 split rings(for trebles of course ) beats buying lead masters for the boats and vest and truck and the set you drop in a freezin' arse river . hope this helps
