barb? what barb?
seriously take a toothpick and aim it at your monitor with 3/4's of it inside your mouth pinched between your incisors
now hold tension on it towards your monitor while emulating headshakes and feel how the inserted toothpick flops about
now picture a #22 hook attached to the inserted end of the toothpick
the odds of that hooking anything is about 20% eh?

now if you look at the size of a chinooks mouth?
or the hardness of said mouth? sharp hooks theory becomes real apparent while large hook theory gains merit

if you compare treble versus single siwash per penatration/grip per size used and note that a similar sized siwash out performs trebles?
and also that if you test sharpness by dulling your hook by testing in your fingernail?
then maybe?
you might also consider using a k-16 with a single forward mounted 5/0 (owner, gammy, vmc, etc) siwash attached to a bead chain long enugh to reduce the torque incurred while the (chinook) rolls it's head in a vain attempt to discard said lure from it's face:)

or?

there is a town halfway between tacoma and olympia named DuPont
in this small burb is a certain resident that cavorts to sportsmen with custum spinners correctly named for his hometown:)
