Start him fishing around age 2. Both of my boys had caught their first salmon by 3, and had gone on a camping trip before they reached 1.

Later on, once you have the kids hooked, let momma go off on her own one day every weekend, while you "watch the kids." ;\) It will pay off in spades.

I fish more than all of my buds, and she says she gets to do more fun stuff than her girlfriends. Don't forget to spend time together, as well. Make sure you have a "Date" once a month, minimum. Finding time for you and your wife gets hard once kids are introduced into the mix.

You will have fun on your adventure days with him, and others if you decide to expand the family.

Finally, that "V" thing all the guys talk about being so painful, really isn't. Being "tutored" ain't so bad. It also gives you an excuse to hold a bag of frozen peas in your crotch area. Every guy has wanted to do that before, but just didn't have a good enough excuse.

I've seen a number of fishing relationships go awry because of one person's affliction. I learned my lesson early enough, hopefully you won't have to.

Congrats on the new fishing buddy! The clock starts ticking faster now.
