Good darn question NCD.

I've yet to bust a custom rod, so I haven't had to deal with that yet.

Here's what I suspect would happen:

Scenario A: Parker hooks his 43 pound steelhead on the 1025 and it explodes on the hookset. Probably a defective blank. I send it back to TH, tell him I lost the World Record Steelhead on a bad rod. He promptly makes me up a new one. Probably will need to charge me a small wrapping fee, as he has to make a new rod from a new blank. We're all cool.

Scenario B: Parker sees one of Nofish's squirrels up in a tree and decides to "go Ninja" on it with his 1025. The rod breaks in half as I try to hit the squirrel upside the head, but miss, and bust it over a branch. Obviously my fault. I send it back to TH with a note telling him "I'm about as retarded as once can get. It's all my fault." TH makes me up a new rod, but charges me whatever it is he charges me. Either a new rod cost (since it was my fault), or some "fee".

Either way, there's gonna be a cost involved. How much, I don't really know. But, I'm willing to take that chance on a rod that is a 1000X better in quality, components, etc.

Yeah, it's a risk. (short answer).

What we need Keith is a XST 1141s. I pretty much HATE my TH GL3 1141 and will only use it as a backup rod to the IMX. There is such a noticeable difference between the IMX graphite and the GL3 graphite that it's silly. Can't stand how the 1141s GL3 feels. Mushy, crappy, not cool in my hand.

I'd love to feel how the XST compares to the IMX 1141. The 1141s are so unique that you'd tell really quick what the XST was all about (good or bad).

Sounds good to me, You'll have to order one up and we can try it... I'm still very happy with my 1141's in IMX, to me they are top notch. Having trained myslef to stay in my shoes on a hookset has saved me many broken rods over the last 3 years. I used to break them all the time!
