Thank you Big Daddy, and Parker for trying to keep this thread on topic. I'm almost done with the actual testing, just taking a break. Its a lot more time consuming than I imagined. Some of the results will cause a stir (I did some of the analysis during a long azzed meeting today).

I'll share this much, the right amount of line stretch may be just as important as abrasion resistance, especially in lighter lines. I did not measure stretch during these tests, but different lines stretched different amounts AND how they stretched. Some lines didn't budge until they hit greater than 50% actual breaking strength, some lines stretched right away, and some lines didn't budge until they were close to failure.

A man could go crazy trying to figure out the implications. But fishing favors those that think. What would be cool is a table that lists what line characteristics are favored for certain types of fishing. Could match that up with groups of lines that meet those characteristics. If anything this testing will open up my selection of Go-To lines.
