like everyone else would like to see more! Much easier to ID with the fish in hand and a single photo can be ambiguous

Purposely waited until now to express my opinion to give others a chance to give their thoughts

However from I can see it is my opinion that it is not a Chinook. Color of gum/tongue aside if you held the jaw of a Chinook as shown in the photo I would expect to see some blood (and not the fish's).

Not all that uncommon to see spotted river coho like that and if I had to pick between coho and Chinook I would have to say coho. The beginning of a "button" on the snout and body color look like a maturing coho.

However there remains some doubt in the back of my mind that the fish might be a pink. The thumb is hiding how "pointy" the lower jaw might be and the teeth look small in the photo - a clearer view of the jaw and/or the tail would help answer the question.

FNP - A fun post and shows how easy it is to confuse all us so-called experts. Seems like there always are some fish around to challenge us.
