In the past, I've always put dacron or mono backing before putting on braid. I have a fresh Curado 201 (you know, the reel with the handle on the correct side?) and 150 yards of 20 pound PowerPro. Anyone know if that will fill it all the way up or do I need backing under it?

I'm looking to have the spool full at the end of the process and I'm not looking to pull off all the PowerPro to put 30 yards of mono under it after the fact.

I hate the listed ratings given on reels (such as 160 yards of 8 pound) since I'm not sure which brand/diameter they use a test. I wish they would just list the yards based on the diameter of the line.

Thanks for the help,
Kaiser D.
