RvW,

The conservative talking heads on radio and TV love to use the people like Gloria Steinman to represent the average liberal. Or whatever the most extreme position is and then generalize it to represent the views of the opposing school of thought. It's why I stopped listening to talk radio 12 years ago. There was no genuine discussion of anything.

Funny the stuff a person finds when looking for something entirely different. I was looking for stats on negligent or accidental discharges of Glocks. And maybe a recommendation for a weapon for a first time firearm owner to use for concealed carry. This particular individual had been told the Glock was THE gun to own. My understanding was the Glock was the gun to own if using one was part of your professional duties. I still didn't find anything useful, just a bunch of anecdotal stories and opinions on both sides.
I'm reluctant to see a newbie with a glock due to it's safety mechanism located on the trigger, and the fact that the trigger has to be pulled in order to break the weapon down for cleaning. But I'm not an expert at all, thats why I was googling looking for some expert opinions.

Probably a discussion that needs it's own thread.
