Next to fishing, baseball was the thing I loved as a kid. I not only enjoyed playing and watching the game, I loved the game itself. Somewhere along the line, they lost me though. Players being constantly traded, no loyality from a player to his team, no loyality from a team to its players, tons of tax dollars for stadiums, and a league that isn't too far off from being mafia run. The whole McGuire/Sosa HR chase the "brought the fans back after the strike" did nothing for me. I couldn't believe people would look at me funny when I said how obvious it was that McGuire was on steroids. The guy was 35 years old and had bad acne. Since then, it has only gotten worse.

I'd put the NBA right in the same light. I used to love watching it but there is corruption from the top down and some game winners are virtually picked by the refs.

The NFL is mafia-run too but at least it is exciting to watch and the competition seems real.
