Lived in Colorado Springs from 80 to 89. Fished the Deckers area often. End of May should be just after lower mountain lakes have ice out. Always found plenty of easy acess around Deckers and plenty of fish could be seen however, not as easy to take they see presentation after presentation. If I remember correctly Denver proper had Fly water only in some of its lakes in town. Gold Medal water within 1 1/2hours of Denver any direction. Downtown had some excellent Fly shops --- very spendy but the information was free, they like to talk. End of May I would head into the mountain lakes for some hungry lakers, then head back to home via a few rivers for browns and bows.
