That's kind of what I thought too, but the game warden was standing right there checking everyone's stuff. He said their is no law about possesion including consumption. He said the law defines possesion as what you have or can physically show the officer. This was in California, so maybe it might be alot different up here since you also have to record/report what you catch. This was also 6 or 7 yrs ago!

I am by NO means saying to do this. But, I can't imagine it being illegal to go fishing for three days, cooking some on day 2, and catching more on day 3. You don't get to bring all that fish home, but you can enjoy it. We need a a warden to chime in. I have never had that problem, cathing and/or shooting my limit Sad, but true. Good luck!
