There was a time when trombones outran selfshuckers,but those days are gone,if/when talking absolutes in regards to the cream of the crop. A good man and a trombone can still open tunnels of daylight through a flock of his choosing,as per whim.

Sorta akin to musing that a revolver is "slow",of poor "lock time" and poor "trigger pull"...until you watch JM drive one.(grin) And as a curiousity he guns a 10lb-ish pull weight,to aid control.
