Don't know about the first two, but the Ambassador was produced a few years after the "A" model, with the only difference being the replacement of bushings with ball bearings. A very good reel, overall, with the exception that the retrieve ratio is rather slow by today's standards. I wouldn't hesistate at all using it as a backup reel for bass or steelhead.
